Commissions

Since I create many "site specific" commissions and truly love my profession, I've challenged myself to see just how smooth and pleasant I can make the entire commission process.

To start with, because I believe in my abilities as an artist and communicator, I will personally travel to your site, office or committee meeting, at no cost or obligation to you. We will discuss all aspects of the possible commission as long as necessary - until you are either comfortable with the commission, or decide against it. I find this procedure creates a more relaxed atmosphere, allowing creative imaginings to happen easier.

The patron often has only a vague idea of what they desire - occasionally, none at all. By the end of our first meeting I will have all the input needed to catalyze the ideas into tangible form that will fit within your "wants" and/or "needs" and your budget. The subjects of my commissions vary greatly according to my patrons' desires. My background provides me the artistic skills, experience and competence to bring your ideas, whether figurative or animal, to completion.

The possibilities are endless: from realistic to the abstract. For the past fifteen years I have enjoyed combining the best of both figurative and abstract traditions to create images with increased power. In a time when crystallized concepts are being re-examined, this marriage of abstraction and realism has bridged the gap for many committees that are challenged to represent both traditions.

The payment schedule for commissions is a variation of a method I have used, quite successfully, for many years. This procedure not only protects both the client and the artist, but also assures that the only surprises are pleasant ones.

I have worked primarily on commissioned "site specific" works of art for the past ten years. During this time I have never missed a delivery date by even one day. Although I am first and foremost an artist, I have learned the stability that comes from treating my art and profession as a business.

Thank you for your interest. I look forward to meeting with you.
